Features
DocuNest is organised around three ideas: keep the original image, extract the text, and index the metadata. Everything else is built on top of that.
Batch OCR
Queue whole folders of scans. Recognition runs on the server, so a single operator can process thousands of pages a day.
PDF/A output
Every document is normalised to PDF/A for long-term preservation, with the source image kept alongside the text layer.
Metadata extraction
Dates, case numbers and sender fields are pulled out automatically and written into the index, so search stays accurate.
Full-text search
Every page is indexed as it is stored. Queries return the page and a snippet, not just the folder name.
Access control
Per-collection permissions with read-only roles for researchers and write roles for archivists.
Audit trail
Every view, export and edit is logged with the operator and a timestamp, so access can be reviewed later.
On-premise by default
DocuNest installs on a server you control. Documents never leave the building unless you configure an off-site backup, which is optional and encrypted.
